(Witness) Biography | | Boriwoi was the first Christian Duke of Bohemia, Ludmilla, his wife. The were baptized by St. Methodius in 871, but deposed by the pagan populous. After reigning 7 more years, they retired in favor of their son Spitignev, and retired to Tetin. Spitignev died 2 years later and was succeeded by Wratislaw. Wratislaw was married to Drahomira, a pagan. They had twin sons, Wenceslaus and Boleslaus. Ludmilla raised Wenceslaus at Tetin. When Wratislaw died in 916, Wenceslaus was only 8 years old, and Lumilla was regent. Drahomira had her strangled with her own veil., Principal=Borivorius (?), Principal=St. Ludmilla of Mielnia2 |
