Per Ann Agatha Walker, child #1, they were members of the Wesleyan Methodist Church and attended the sectarian school., William Gibson held an office in his church and was a local preacher when they were baptized by Parley P. Pratt. Ann Agatha also says that they lived at Leek, Staffordshire, England on Derby street when she was born. She says they moved to Manchester where she attended the school in which her father taught. Six years later, they moved to Pendelton and it was here they first heard the gospel. 5 |

Note (Marie): In searching for parents of William Goodwin FILM 1040766, LEEK,STAFFORDSHIRE PARISH REGISTER, I found two baptisms that (datewise) could be our William with two different parents. As I prayed about it, I felt strongly that the one I have put in our records (WILLIAM AND SARAH HASWELL GOODWIN) is the correct one [and per IGI ORDINANCE INDEX], someone has had William sealed to them Film 448096 page 0055, ordinance No. 56096, Logan Temple Bapt. 10Mar1964 LOGAN;endowed 20 Apr 1964 LOGAN; and Sealed to Parents: Pre-1970). The other I found who had a son, William, baptized 22 Mar. 1772, was Thomas and Mary Goodwin. There were two Thomas and Mary Goodwin's in the IGI Ordinance Index: (1) (Film 1058979 Batch 7701822 sheet 69) Tho. Godwin, spouse Mary Gibson, married 4 Jul 1766, Leek, Stratford. Sealed to Spouse 3 Jan 1978, PROVO. (2) (Film 1058068 batch 7511826 50) Thos. & Mary Wardle, married 16Dec1769, Leek, Stafford, Sealed to Spouse 18 Feb. 1976 LOGAN.
