Marriage* | 6 April 1699 | Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA, Principal=Rebecca Ryder2,1 |
Note* | | Some sources list Stephen Griffith, husband of Hannah Norcross as son of Stephen Griffith. This is apparently wrong. That Stephen was the son of William Griffith, is established by two deeds dated 8 Aug. 1728, in which Stephen sells to Benjamin Hammond and to Joseph Burge property that Stephen bought of his "father" William Griffith (Plymouth County deeds, 23:114 and 25:35, respectively); in the second deed, Stephen's wife, Hannah, releases her dower rights in the property. He removed to Hardwick as early as 1735, and was selectman of that town in 1737. (Ref. History of Hardwick, by Paige)., Principal=Stephen Griffith |

Note* | | From AncestralFile, we have the following information, which gives alternate parents for Hannah. I believe this is not the correct Hannah, but I would appreciate any correspondence that can prove more along these lines.
Hannah Sanders was born 8 May 1674 in Watertown, MA. She was maried on 6 August 1695, in Weston, MA to Richard Norcross. Hannah died 14 May 1783. Her father was John Sanders (Sander) ; her mother Hannah Pictman. Their fourth son, Jeremiah Norcross, born 2 July 1703 moved to NH in 1759 and became one of the proprietors of the town of Rindge.
Hannah was Richard's second wife. He had three children by his first wife, Rose Woodward. (The latter information comes from the History of Rindge, NH by Ezra Stearns. |
