Description Details
I accompanied my friend Beth Bentley to a quilt store and spotted a kit for a "watercolor" quilt. I named it after my husband's garden, which is a mix of lots of different wildflowers. I didn't yet know about quilting but I knew I wanted to stich a large flower (best seen from the reverse side) with metallic thread. I can't believe I got that old Kenmore sewing machine to go along with the idea. The borders are hand quilted using the "Aunt Jenny" technique I learned from a class with Jean Brown of Portland, Oregon.
