Poinsettia

Dimensions: 27 inches x 20.5 inches Pattern: Original. Batik fabrics were the inspiration. Fabrics: Batik small and large prints Construction: Machine free-style pieced and quilted on a Bernina 165, and hand beaded by Charlee Banks in 2002. Notes: The Batik fabrics inspired me to cut out the poinsettia flowers and arrange them in raw-edged appliqué with beaded embellishments. I made the flowerpot dimensional with stuff work. The free-motion quilting with metallic thread anchors the flowers and covers the background. Yarn-covered cording makes the stems. Ruching decorates the flowerpot.
